The electronic version of the Pocket Guide contains current clinical evidence-based guidelines for inpatient management of children.The guidelines are designed for doctors, nurses and other medical staff responsible for treating children. Special attention is paid to the management of diseases constituting the main causes of infant mortality:• Neonatal diseases, low birth weight, premature babies, sepsis, perinatal asphyxia and congenital anomalies;• Pneumonia and other breathing problems, such as bronchiolitis, asthma and tuberculosis• Diarrhea, acute and prolonged• Fever, including malaria, meningitis, septic fever and rheumatic fever• Severe eating disorders• HIV AIDS• Surgical problems, including injuries and burns.The electronic application contains recommendations on the stages of managing sick children in the hospital: emergency screening assessment, methods of examining children, laboratory tests, supportive care and monitoring, discharge and follow-up.This electronic application will allow you to use the recommendations in offline mode. In addition, it has the following user-friendly features: interactive links, search, the ability to view illustrations in full size, and the use of formulas to calculate dosages of drugs (instead of the tables used in the printed version of the manual).This electronic application was developed by the European Regional Bureau of the World Health Organization.
